A trip to Egypt sounds great... I have such fond memories of my trip to Egypt with family. And, believe me, its one of the most intriguing places on this earth. There is just so much to see in Egypt - you can never say enough. I am sure you are going to have a great time. I found a really cool itinerary for Egypt.Since you are there for a month you can explore all the attractions at your leisure. I am saying Cairo because it is central and easily accessible from all parts of Egypt. If you are under 26 years, you have a chance to use the youth hostels wish is good or similar to 3 or 2 stars accommodation. If you don't prefer this choice still there are many cheap hotels or hostels specially in Cairo, Alexandria, Hurghada, Dahab and others. Blending into the culture needs sometime really as the concentraion of population in big cities makes a mix of cultures and backgrounds that's not easy to understand in few days. Egypt is a social heaven if you can understand it well. You need some well cultured friends and you should visit first some musuems and sites to know about some backgrounds and history. You'll meet many Egyptians in the street who may not know about their history while most of their words, customs and traditions are mainly affected by history. You should also not judge Egypt as a modern country or expect Paharos are walking in the streets. I need many pages and thousand lines if I want tell about Egypt. if you need any help send me directly and tell me what you want to do and what I can do to help. Welcome among Egyptian hearts.

travel on overnight trains and you have no hotel bill. some trains are not for "foreigners". BUT you simply get on without a ticket, the conductor will sell you a ticket with a minimal surcharge for failing to have a ticket. a $60 trip will become $10 like cairo to luxor. about a 9 hour trip. do these later or your excitement will overcome sleep! (i've been in russia on trains for 20 years and STILL lie awake in awe!)
