basin There must be something there that they needed or wanted..otherwise they'd have gone elsewhere...
2 :
the bason of the nile produces rich soil that helps crops and all plants grow and enrich the plant to grow! the plants or crops gow faster and richer!!! thats why hope this helps
3 :
Because it's fertile soil. The farther away from the river you get, the sandier the soil becomes.
4 :
so they don't have to drag their heavy scuba equipment very far
5 :
.....hmmmmmmm, when I look at the Egypt topographical layout, I see mostly desert,............mostly. Maybe people are attracted to the survivablility being around sources of water. At least that is where I would live in Egypt.

Is LE 1000 enough to live in Egypt

Is LE 1000 enough to live in Egypt?
When a job offers LE 1000. Is that for a week or a month? And is that enough or no. If it is not enough, what is decent? Thanks. Hi Fozio... I am not an expat. I was just curious to see b/c I know Egyptians who earn that a month there and I was wondering if that would be enough to live. Thank you for your response.

well it enough for one person only , but cannot support a familly
2 :
no .. not really .. does the job provide residence and trasnportations as well ? in that case maybe ...
3 :
1000 LE equals 170 US$. Can you live anywhere in the world with such monthly salary? You will mostly pay it for some modest accommodation
4 :
simply .... NO !
5 :
1000 pounds is per month and its enough for a family contains of 2 persons to live for a month. by the way most of people at Egypt get lower than this salary and have families and still live !!
6 :
Most likely this is for month. Many jobs in Egypt and even in the private sector pay less than LE 1000 but it debends on the job anyway. For an Egyptian who is living away from downtown, eating Egyptian food, washing his clothes himself and doing almost everything at home, yes it would be enough and maybe to have a family as well!
7 :
Salaries in Egypt are usually on a monthly basis. L.E1000 salary is a disgraceful figure, it is an insulting figure that will not allow even a single person to have a life. L.E1000 can cover the cost of food and a few basic necessities, but that is about it. I know and aknwoeldge that a lot of Egyptians are making less than that figure, but they are way below the poverty line. I assume u r an expat, I can safely bet that this figure is probably the lowest ever salary offered to an expat in the history of this country. Do not even bother rejecting the offer. Yeah, a lot of people earn even below L.E1,000. At this salary you can't do much really. Most people live with their parents, so they dont pay rent, food and basic household expenses. But the 1000 salary wont get them much, they will be able to go out, eat out occassionally but that is about it, no savings.
8 :
may be for you only
9 :
if you are alone this is ok and it is per month but to live a life like america in Egypt you should take 2000
10 :
it is a monthly saary. it is too little unless you are provided accomodation and meals . you have to mention your profession and experience so that i could tell you how much would be decent .
11 :
Salaries in Egypt are per month. 1000 pounds is too low to rent, eat etc. If it is only pocket money that is not bad.
12 :
Yes

Well, I know that Egypt is a very highly developed country, I know you have internet there are many Egyptian users on this site, I know you have modern appliances just like most countries, I have never thought Egypt to be a backward country, also I believe it to be a mainly Muslim country, but I have seen on documentaries that many young modern woman choose to dress freely, it is their choice and not forced apon them, I also believe cities such as Cairo to be very highly developed. Hope this is of some help to you, good day!!
