I have lived in Egypt for the past 9 years. I am looking for others to share experiences with.

I lived in the U.S. for about 20 years (pretty much my whole life) and just moved here to Cairo about six months ago. My father is Egyptian, and I had visited Egypt several times before moving here, but I am still having a hard time adjusting. I would love to have someone else to compare notes with :)

You should be able to. That depends on the government of Egypt's immigration laws.

You can only become a citizen if you either; Marry an Egyptian, and remain married for 7 years. Or If you are working there, under permit, for 10 years. Even then, it will depend on the authorities just exactly how long, or whether your case is valid.

I want to buy a wifi 3G iPad from USA but I live in Egypt . Would 3G function ?
On apple site there is two options either AT&T or verizon , I am not sure if they have some system for the middle east or may be I can legally uncode the system to function in Egypt.

Yes it will work on 3G just fine.

The iPad is locked to AT&T. Apple will not ship internationally.

how would i live in egypt for my gap year before university, can you rent/buy places for a year?
im not sure how to plan where i would stay for a year. Can you rent places to live for only a year? and how would i find these places? please help!
