If you are looking for an Romanian, then you probably actually want to learn to speak Romanian. There is not language called "Roman," only Romani and Romanian. Romani is the language of the Romani people, aka Gypsies. Romans (fromt he Roman Empire/Republic) spoke the Latin language. Modern day Romans speak Italian. Edit: Sorry, left out one. There is also Romansh, which is spoken in Switzerland.
