Sucky, sucky. Seriously they lock all their women up there so there is a giant demand for prostitution.
2 :
maybe the military, but I don't think that would leave you much time for study
3 :

It's apparent that the others don't know what they are talking about!!! Egypt is a beautiful country with a lot of opportunities. Salaries are not so high, but the cost of living is very reasonable. My best suggestion would be to contact schools(as an instructor or assistant) or even language institutes(Berlitz is a great one), and see if you could work part time. Try to contact the Institution were you will be studying and see if they have any posts for research assistants or something similar. As well there might be posts with multi national companies in egypt!! Good luck, and definitely go for it(chance of a lifetime)

I think you can look for a job there and study....first you should know what you would like to study....then which college , apply for enrollment...then you will have residency visa and can look for a job.

Girl, why would you wanna study here?! Education sucks big time here!

You are out of luck!!!

I hope with all my heart you will take every word that I am going to post to you with full attention. I know Egypt Very well. Egypt can be great, and it also can be the worst. The living standards is low. You can live on very little money, if you know where to look, and it is not that hard, you can have a good living with little money. You can get a part time job in many different fields, such as teaching English, or private tutoring, a translator among many otherss. But, you have to be careful, you can find many honest friendly people who will help you all they can, but you will also find good people who sees it that converting you to Islam is helping you. In their understanding, everyone else in the world is wrong. So many have been forced to convert to Isalm, manily girls. This is what they do. If they get you on target, first they will try doing it in a most civilized friendly manner, if that didn't work, believe it, you will be taken away, placed in someones home, they referr to it, to protect you, and force you to convert. to seal the deal so as you can't go back, they marry you to one of their good Muslims. but, if you are already a Muslim. You are safe from that, and you will not find them much interested in marrying you. You already one of them, so they move on to the next project. From your question, you are just the perfect target. Be careful of what you ask. Not all people are looking out to help you, and some who wants to help you, are not doing it for you, but for themselves. This is getting worse and worse everyday in Egypt. Be very careful. Egypt can be wonderful experience when you are with the right people, and it does inculde the Muslim people. I know many true stories of girls being forced to convert, and the government doesn't do anything for the family to help. Believe it is the truth. Another problem is some believe if you are a foreigner, it is given that you have money, some many try to get to you, so as they can use you to get out of their country. Be very Careful as you would in any other country. Don't give your personal information to ANYONE, you never know who is on the other line.

I am from usa.How can i live in Egypt for 6 month? Is there a visa for this amount of time

I am from usa.How can i live in Egypt for 6 month? Is there a visa for this amount of time?
I am engaged to be married to an Egyptain man. But we will not marry right away. I have visited him in egypt before. But the distance is killing both of us. We would like me to come and stay in Egypt til our marriage. But i can only find tourist visa's that are good for 30 days. Is there another way for me to be able to go and stay there? I have heard of people visiting Egypt and deciding to stay there for long periods of time. So im just trying to figure out how they did this. I dont want to give up my American Citizenship But i loved being in Egypt. I loved the culture and the people.

I think u can buy a visa at Egypt's airport. I am Egyptian but was born in USA and do not carry an Egyptian passport but I came to Egypt and I have been there for more than a year now. I think u can just stay there for as long as u want, all u have to worry abt it booking the ticket. u dont need to give up ur USA citizenship AT ALL!!! where did u get such info from??!! enjoy it in Egypt!

You can renew your visa many times. I think after 6 months you'll be asked to show a better reason to stay. A marriage paper can be a good reason. Take care if your fiance is not thinking seriously about marriag, take care then. Good luck and welcome in Egypt

Visas are good for 90 days (so that's 3 months). Check out this information that I got off of the US State dept website... EGYPT - *Passport and visa required. Visas may be obtained upon entry from the Entry Visa Department at the Travel Documents, Immigration and Nationality Administration or most major ports of entry. Entry visa is required for any foreigner arriving in Egypt for purposes other than tourism (e.g. work, study). Tourist visas (single-/multiple-entry) are valid for 90 days. HIV test required for study and work permits. Dependents are no longer exempt—spouses must also get tested, as well as any children aged 15 or older. Students are exempt from visa fees. For specific requirements, consult the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt, 3521 International Court, NW, Washington, DC 20008 (202/895-5400) or the nearest Consulate General: CA (415/346-9700), IL (312/828-9162), NY (212/759-7120), or TX (713/961-4915). I went to egypt and i got a tourist visa in the airport in cairo. That was good for 90 days. I decided to stay longer though so we just went to renew it. I think we got it renewed for a year. It was very easy. Good luck!

You can get your visa extended in the immigration department. Just take your intended spouse and he can explain things to them. They will stamp your passport with an extension. After you are married, you can get an indefinate one. I went and married my husband in Alex. I was there for 5 months. It was easy. Just go in, tell then you want to stay longer and what for, and you are finished. Easy. I love it there too. I cried for hours after I had to leave to come back to the US. I want to go back so badly. I might nevre leave it again.

It's pretty easy to get permission to live in Egypt. I'd recommend you find a job opportunity first before going as that would definitely make things easier for a long term visa. Try the Egyptian embassy in whatever country you're in to find out all the paperwork you might need. Good luck

I think you need work first, it will be a strong cause to stay. Then every thing else will be so easy. I think this link will provide you with more info.: http://egyptwww.com/en/more.php?mode=view_item&sub=701&item=37829 & you can also try the Egyptian embassy.

You can buy, rent and be accepted easily. To live and stay officially is something else and not difficult. If you don't have an amount equal or more than 10 million Egyptian pounds, you can start any good business in Egypt that create jobs or offer something good to the community. I don't advise you to live in the crowded Cairo. May be Cairo suburbs if you like to be near to the capital, but Cairo is very crowded and polluted all kinds of pollution.
